Scented Spring flowers are a favourite and now very fashionable as a gift whether as a small bunch of tulips or daffodils or a posy of mixed Spring flowers.

A jug of paperwhites or a cube of hyacinths will scent a room for days while also introducing Springtime after the Winter.

All flowers are seasonal. This doesn't mean that they are only available for a short time in Ireland. Many varieties are available all year. This is achieved in two ways. They are grown under artificial heat and light or are imported from a country where the season is right for growing a particular variety For example carnations will grow in Ireland from May to September. In southern Europe like Italy and Spain for a slightly longer Summer season but will be imported from central or south America in our Autumn and Winter.
